April 5 from 11 a.m.
Exhibition in the park - Baking and cooking at the Fischerhaus - Lecture on local history - News in the resonance room
On April 5, we will kick off the annual theme of NEIGHBORHOOD with an exhibition in the castle park and a lecture in the castle. In keeping with the 650th anniversary of the village, we are focusing on the Altranft neighborhood.
11.00 a.m. Opening of the exhibition:
At 11 a.m., we will be opening the exhibition "Neighborhood Altranft - A Museum and a Village" in the Schlosspark am Landgraben. The cultural scientist and illustrator Mathilde Scholz spoke to around 20 people in Altranft about the village and their commitment to their place, about the relationship between the village and the museum, about celebrations and much more. The result is 22 illustrated panels, which can now be seen on the occasion of the 650th anniversary.
At a time when many things are drifting apart, it is important to Mathilde Scholz to make connecting structures in the village and museum visible and to strengthen them. She writes: "My work consists of interweaving the stories, supplemented by photographs and illustrations. This enables a change of perspective that invites people to overcome barriers and discover the potential of active, neighborly cooperation."
Mathilde Scholz grew up in Oderbruch, studied art history, cultural studies and design and graduated with a master's degree in intermedia design. Since 2020, she has been working freelance in the region on projects ranging from graphic visualizations and animated film workshops to accompanying transformation processes.
13.00 Fresh bread and fresh cake
The oven is fired up at the Fischerhaus and Kai Kreuzmann, master baker from Oderberg, bakes his excellent breads and sheet cakes. While many bakeries have had to close, he has dared to start afresh with a mobile wood-fired oven bakery. He will now also be coming to Altranft for our annual theme of NEIGHBORHOOD, because bakeries are neighborhood places. Bread and cakes will be ready at 13.00 and can be purchased and eaten.
In the kitchen house next to the bakery, Fabio Fioresi will be offering a open cooking workshop and invites young and old to try out recipes.
3 p.m. Lecture on the history of Altranft
To coincide with the 650th anniversary of the village, or more precisely: the entry of the village in the land register of Emperor Charles IV, Dr. Reinhard Schmook will give a lecture on the history of the village at 3 pm in the castle. Under the title "From the Burgundian woman's grave, the inventor of the rotary condenser and other secrets of Altranft's local history", the historian will present an illustrious and informative overview, which should not only be of interest to Altranft residents. Historical footage that is not seen every day complements the lecture. This fits in well with our annual theme of NEIGHBORHOOD. As Altranft is located on a favored settlement site, people have always settled here, so the place has a lot of surprises in store
The theme of neighborhood also finds its way into the resonance room in the castle. Framed by drawings by Johanna Benz, which, among other things, take a pointed look at our neighborhood to the Oder, and photos from the Oderbruch, the newly designed description table awaits your comments.
