The biggest event of the year from September 19 - 21
A big harvest festival is celebrated in Altranft every year. This year, the village is celebrating its 650th birthday and wanted to make it even bigger to mark the occasion. On the initiative of Anita Marzini, who was still the head of Altranft at the time, the village applied for the Brandenburg Village and Harvest Festival, which is held in a different town each year as a nationwide event, and was awarded the contract! In January, Mayor Ralf Lehmann and village head Conny Gebhard received the baton for the festival at the Green Week in Berlin. The town of Bad Freienwalde is suspending its Old Town Festival this year to support the event, as Altranft will be celebrating, dancing and singing for three days.
The festival is organized by Tourismus-GmbH Bad Freienwalde together with a working group from Altranft. It takes place at various locations in the village - the main stage is located on the Anger, from here a large regional market extends to Mühlenstraße. A potato farm with dance, theater and cooking is set up between the community hall and the fire station. The Fischerhaus grounds offer music and cabaret and the castle park and many Altranft courtyards are also inviting.
There will be concerts and dancing on Friday evening, followed by the actual state harvest festival on Saturday. It begins at 9.40 a.m. with a church service on the Anger, conducted by Bishop Stäblein and the church district's trombone choir, after which the festival will be opened by Minister President Dietmar Woidke. The Brandenburg countrywomen organize a harvest crown competition and there will be a large historical parade focusing on the history of the village. The celebrations will continue into the night before the third round begins on Sunday, which will even include a second parade.
