Program day, Saturday, 03 May 2025,
Circus, storytelling theater, neighborhood in a shoebox and colorful Oderbruch greetings: Children's Day at the Oderbruch Museum Altranft on May 3 from 11.00 am.
On the first Saturday in May, the castle and park in Altranft almost traditionally belong to the children - and their parents. Play and workshop activities, framed by cabaret, acrobatics and storytelling theater, ensure fun and a good mood. In the park, young and old alike can look forward to an unusual, home-made carousel, real ponies and a huge play area with everything they need to juggle, balance and be amazed. And of course there is also plenty to discover and try out in the castle and the museum workshop.
There will also be plenty to eat and drink: "Goldmund" has once again prepared delicious food, the children from Boberhaus Letschin will be baking waffles and the museum café will be serving snacks.
11.00 a.m. we start with the Circus Chapeau Claque and a first juggling act to celebrate Children's Day. Seemingly unplanned stunts alternate with lovingly performed tricks. Tim and Max created Circus Chapeau Claque out of a longing for freedom, creativity and community, to create something that breaks boundaries, touches hearts and makes dreams come true. The result is not a traditional circus, but a new circus family is created every day: children, young people, adults - they all enter our circus and discover a world in which anything is possible. It's about so much more than just art and technology. It's about the shared experience, the laughter and amazement that unites us all.
12:30 p.m. A storytelling theater invites you to listen. Fairy tales and myths are heard - everyone knows stories and their fascinating effect if you dive deep into them. Suse Weise and Christiane Russell from Erzählwerk Potsdam take their guests on a journey into different worlds and let their words fly. "Approach, the story begins!": With these words, the two open ears - and hearts.
14.00 Circus Chapeau Claque invites you to the second performance. Anyone who missed the first Circus Chapeau Claque juggling act or who simply couldn't get enough of their art and magic tricks can now experience another show by Tim and Max.
3 p.m. The storytelling theater performs another story - and the storytellers once again immerse their young and old listeners in another world.
4.00 pm we invite you to the opening of two special exhibitions in the castle. Last year, children from Bliesdorf painted Oderbruch postcards with bright watercolors during a mobile workshop of the museum in the Heimatstube Bliesdorf. The exhibition "Oderbruchgrüße" now shows the originals in the picture gallery.
The many imaginative dioramas that children and young people from all over the Oderbruch region have created on the annual theme of NEIGHBORHOOD are set up right next door under the title "Neighborhood in a shoebox". What experiences do you have with your neighbors? Is it the shared strawberries or cherries from the garden? The joint search for the missing cat? Gossip or arguments at the garden fence? The village festival? The Children's Day at the Oderbruch Museum ends with the award ceremony for the most beautiful or craziest little showcases in this year's diorama competition.
Admission to Children's Day is free! We are happy to receive donations.
The Children's Day at the Oderbruch Museum Altranft is sponsored by Sparkasse Märkisch Oderland.
