What a milestone birthday! As a gift, 12 children and teens from Bliesdorf decided to produce an animated film for and about their fire department. For weeks, they met regularly at the „Heimatstube Bliesdorf“ cultural heritage center, interviewed neighbors, collected stories, and gathered all the information they needed. During the Easter break, the time had finally come: Over the course of four days, with the help of workshop leaders Johanna Ickert and Mathilde Scholz, they brought the stories and anecdotes to life, animated them using stop-motion techniques, and recorded their voiceovers. Of course, the story about when the cow had to be rescued from the pool was particularly popular. You can certainly experience a lot in just 100 years!
The premiere took place on the final day of the project, and the young people proudly presented their film to a large audience.
The animated film will be presented and screened again on June 6, 2026, during the Bliesdorf Fire Department’s anniversary celebration.
