Exhibition opening of the photo art project on September 13 at 3 p.m. in the Altlangsow school and prayer house
Filmmaker and photographer Sarah Sandring writes about this partner project: "The Neighborhood Alphabet" is a photo art project with schoolchildren in cooperation with the Altlangsow School and Prayer House. What answers do you get when you ask young people from the Oderbruch region about their experience of neighborhood and have them photograph it? An alphabet of a different kind - unsparing, personal, critical, poetic. An alphabet in photographs - from A for arrival to Z for discord."
Over four days, she worked with pupils from the Seelower Höhen secondary school on their stories, thoughts and associations relating to the annual theme of neighborhood. The media chosen for this workshop were Instant photography and writing on pictures. An audio installation with personal texts and interviews framed the pupils' work.
The workshop on the alphabet of the neighborhood took place in July in the Altlangsow School and Prayer House. The exhibition "The Neighborhood Alphabet" will open on Saturday, September 13 at 3 p.m. in the Altlangsow School and Prayer House and will be on display until October 12. Here is a small foretaste.
