Works by Dana Bornamm and Sander Bartel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bildersalon is showcasing photographs of paintings and installations, as well as sound and video works by Dana Bormann and Sander Bartel, through the end of October. The young artists collaborate at the intersection of art, ecology, science, and social transformation. The focus is on the question of how landscape comes into being, who owns it, who has control over it, and how a different relationship between humans, other life forms, and their shared habitats can be achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changing art exhibitions with reference to the Oderbruch region<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With the 2024 season, we would like to make the Bildersalon available to individual artists for staff exhibitions lasting several weeks that relate to the work of the Oderbruch Museum in terms of content. A maximum of three exhibitions per season can be presented. It is now possible to apply until the end of October 2023 for an exhibition in the Bildersalon in the 2024 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the title \u201eODERBRUCH: Remembering,\u201c we are exhibiting black-and-white photographs by Christine Radack from the 1980s. During this time, she and her husband purchased a small, old mud-brick house near the Oder River and began exploring the Oderbruch region and photographing the people in their community. The images tell the story of that era.
The exhibition will be on view through the end of August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the next few weeks, we will be presenting the photo reportage \u201e\u00dcber Br\u00fccken. German-Polish Neighborhoods\u201c with black and white photographs by Holger Herschel and texts by J\u00fcrgen Danyel. Last year, they were out and about on the bridges over the Oder between Hohenwutzen and Frankfurt (Oder) and talked to people on these bridges. The reportage was produced in cooperation with the cultural heritage site Europabr\u00fccke Neur\u00fcdnitz-Siekierki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The river in the sky. Landscapes by Petra Schramm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are showing new paintings by Petra Schramm in the Picture Salon at Altranft Castle. She has been traveling on both sides of the Oder and is now presenting her latest works under the title \u201eIn the Sky of the River - Landscapes\u201c in keeping with the theme of NEIGHBORHOOD. In addition to the oil paintings, there are also drypoint etchings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00c4ANDER - An exhibition by Kata Adamek<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition \"Meander\" by the artist Kata Adamek, who was born in Opole on the Odra, is currently on display.
The wool works selected for the show at the Oderbruchmuseum tell a partly autobiographical story, some of which revolve around the theme of water. They tell of her connection with the River Oder and other rivers where she lives or has lived. When she thinks about these rivers, she thinks about the power they give her, other people, animals and plants. How ancient and generous they are. Equally ancient is the technique - felting - with which she has created large-format wall sculptures\/objects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Oderbruch greetings - watercolors by children from Bliesdorf<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last year, children from Bliesdorf painted Oderbruch postcards with bright watercolors during a mobile workshop of the Oderbruch Museum in the Heimatstube Bliesdorf. The exhibition \"Oderbruchgr\u00fc\u00dfe\" (Oderbruch greetings) now shows the originals in the picture salon. The 19 drawings can be seen until the end of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 \"Hot off the press: Small churches in the Oderbruch\" - An exhibition with money prints by Heike Pander<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Until the end of April, a series of gel prints of small village churches on both sides of the Oder can be seen in the picture salon. On her forays through the Oderbruch region, ethnologist and artist Heike Pander came across small village churches in many of the villages, whose architectural features quickly aroused her interest. The 30 or so prints were created on the basis of black and white photographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Large-format photographs by Holger Herschel of the old lock stairs at the Niederfinow ship lift were on display under the title \"LEERSTAND\". The analog black-and-white photographs were taken more than twenty years ago and slumbered as negatives in the photographer's archive. At that time, the lock stairs had not been in operation for thirty years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many visual artists live and work in the Oderbruch and many of them deal with the Oderbruch and its people. As a small insight into this diversity, the museum tried out a mixed picture salon over four years with works by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2018 Zwischenraum - A Space Installation by Kerstin Baudis<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Inside and outside, house and landscape, poor and rich - everything is connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the annual theme of agriculture 2018, artist Kerstin Baudis explored the question of how land use in and around Altranft has changed the cultural landscape and the way people live together over time. She talked to people in the village, explored the landscape, did research. As a result, she used the existing furniture in the stately rooms of the castle to build walk-in interstitial spaces that reveal the loss and gain of cultural landscape dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In four interventions in the castle, she addressed the various facets of manorial agriculture - from the production of wealth to poverty, flight and the present - and found opportunities for creative counterparts in the fisherman's house. Just as it was visible in the manor house that wealth was sweated out through farm labor, it was now possible to see in the farm worker's house how the silverware escaped through the black kitchen's chimney and what labor time went into a bushel of grain. Kerstin Baudis' work, however, was not primarily about social injustice; above all, it established the connection between the different parts of the museum. The outside was reflected in the inside, the inside was turned inside out. This created the perception of an in-between space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerstin Baudis' work was very valuable for the development of the museum. Not only did she enrich the annual theme with many interesting room installations, she also gave the museum an impulse for further courageous handling of the rooms that had been created during the time of the open-air museum. Respecting their character, but nevertheless introducing one's own questions and uses, has since succeeded in many places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2017 The guest rooms. Room installation by Ellen Kobe<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Artistic interventions with works by Beate Bendel, Ingo Biermann, Ellen Kobe, Achim K\u00fchn, Coco K\u00fchn, Petra Lottje, Tanja Ostojic, Fiene Scharp, Judith Siegmund, Elisabeth Sonneck and Astrid Weichelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From May 20 to December 2, 2017, Berlin artist Ellen Kobe presented \"DIE G\u00c4STEZIMMER\" at the Oderbruch Museum Altranft. She used the bed and chair, window and curtain, floor and table of the Wilhelminian furniture from the Charlotte von Mahlsdorf collection to lay traces that lead into the past and present of the Oderbruch. The wealth of the Altranft estate, which has melted away time and again, played a role, as did the experiences of the Altranft residents from the GDR era, when the castle was a cultural center. The experiences of the 1947 floods are reflected upon, as is the changing significance of women in the context of the manor's practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vernissage of the exhibition project took place on May 20, 2017 in the form of Ellen Kobe's performance \"Die Schimmelreiterin\" with the participation of actor Thomas Bading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
